Tilt Beam (Triaxial MEMS)
The Model 6195 Tilt Beam uses MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) tilt sensors for accurate measurement of inclination over the distance of the beam. The Model 6195 contains a Triaxial MEMS Tilt Sensor within a section of stainless steel tubing manufactured to customer-specified lengths. Precision-machined mounting brackets, located at each end of the beam, are used (with supplied hardware) to bolt the sensor to the structure or surface of interest.
Tilt Beams, when combined in a string, are connected to each other by means of a four-wire bus cable and the industry standard Modbus® Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) protocol is used to communicate. Automated monitoring is accomplished using any of the GeoNet Addressable Loggers, 8600 Series Dataloggers, Campbell Scientific Dataloggers or any other device capable of being a Modbus RTU client and having an RS-485 port.
